EAST WOODS SCHOOL
Book Banks Breakfast for Books
East Woods School Raises $531.00 for Book Banks

On January 20th East Woods School generously hosted a special continental breakfast to raise money for Save the Children’s popular Book Banks program.  Book Banks were established to provide reading materials for children in their native language to boost their reading and vocabulary skills.  In Nepal and Malawi, where the program first started, children who used the Book Banks significantly improved their reading scores.
East Woods’ Student Council donated doughnuts, chocolate croissants, butter croissants, and whole wheat baguettes, as well as hot chocolate and orange juice.  These special items were then sold to the student body.  The entire Student Council participated by selling the tickets for the food, serving, and helping the younger children.  Many students bought only one item and then decided to donate their change as well!!
